The View
Reviews
What a gem of a place. Ended up here as the campsite we’d booked for 2 nights was full. Wish we could have stayed longer here. The view was incredible, sunset over the mountains- beautiful. The facilities were all great, clean and plenty of hot water. A bonus was the pub next door - only had a drink there, but the food looked good,
This is the most well equipped campsite we have stayed at with all the facilities you would need - shop, pub, charging, freezers etc. It has fantastic views over the loch, a great location for exploring the south of Mull, and is very dog friendly
The camp site is very isolated by a single track road with passing places.., although once you’ve arrived it’s just stunning and you forget the almost hour of stress driving to get there! The site is automatic check-in on the large screen immediately in front of you as you arrive, the screen is not touch but does show clearly which pitch you’ve been booked to stay on! The view is stunningly beautiful and the site has a well stocked shop and pub adjacent to the camp site, nothing much else unless you cycle or walk! We hired a car to do our visiting in as our 7m Motorhome did cause some issues with the locals which the majority were respectful but like anywhere there’s always the entitled - we did experience some negativity from the younger local drivers but I put them in their place and they won’t forget me in a hurry! You’re 35 minutes from the ferry to Iona which is a place you need to visit but make sure you get the 10:3m sailing if not there’s almost a 2 hour wait for the next ferry! They do have both a cafe and a fish Bistro along with lots of paid parking so I suggest you go back up the hill and on the right is a very large free to stay car park which caters for Motorhomes and cars - no time limits here! Travel to Tobermory via the ferry port from the camp site is certainly an experience I’ll not forget…, 2 way road for a while but then its again single track with passing places - on arrival got to the Main Street as just as you enter there’s a large carpark on your right behind the Freemason lodge building, loads of Motorhome and car parking spaces which get full very quickly…, then the village spreads out before you, has all the normal holiday shops, further down there’s a food store, Co-Op or Spar, don’t exactly remember! Further down is the ferry port which can get quite busy on its arrival, again roads are not very large so be cautious! Will we go back.., no, that box has been ticked and we were happy when we returned to the mainland with proper roads!
Excellent campsite with very good facilities. Beautiful location, great well stocked shop and a pub next door serving scrumptious food……what more do you need?
A nice new campsite in a cracking loch side location. Excellent clean showers and toilet facilities. An Inn and a small store nextdoor and café nearby. There are pitches for motorhomes, caravans, trailer tents, roof tents and big tent area and glamping pods.
This was the best site we visited in our campervan whilst on Mull. The views and sunsets are fantastic. All the facilities are modern and very clean. Pub and food is next door at the Inn. Will definately return.
Stayed for the week, brilliant campsite, quiet, clean with excellent facilities. There's also a shop and restaurant next door to the campsite. Beautiful views over the water and if you're patient and quiet you might even see some exciting wildlife.
Excellent campsite, the best we have stayed at in our campervan. Lovely clean showers and toilets which was regularly cleaned. Convenient well stocked community shop with everything you need. Lovely view over the loch, didn't want to leave.
Incredible site - beautiful views, great campervan pitches. Next to a brilliant Inn and Cafe and shop. Lovely walks.
Stayed for 2 nights at Port n Gael campsite in campervan...Location superb...Spotless campsite...Cleanest toilets and showers in any campsite I have visited...Food in Port n Gael Inn amazing and good price...Shop stocking all essentials...Well worth a visit....5 stars
Our stay over Easter was exceptional - we stayed in Tiroran which had a super comfy bed and everything we needed for a few nights away. What makes the stay so special were the efforts that went into finding my missing wedding ring - now returned. I can’t thank the team enough and wait to return
What a find. Our first stop on Mull and what an amazing site. We arrived a day early and it was no problem at all, we called the office and without any problem it was changed over. The site is situated with the most beautiful outlook, all the facilities you need that are well kept and spotless clean. Showers lovely and hot. Shop and pub/restaurant next door both well stocked and amazingly priced. Washing machines and tumble dryers available too if needed. You could not ask for more, this was an easy 5 star review
Brilliant stay on a beautiful campsite. No complaints about any aspect of the site. Stunning views to wake up to looking over Ben More Loch Scridain. The site was immaculate, with great facilities. Definitely will be back aoon!
This was the best campsite ever! So well thought through and thoughtfully thought through for all types of campers. The nearby shop was well stocked and has long opening hours. The scenery was spectacular you can walk along the shore or sit and watch for eagles. The passenger ferry for Iona or a Staffa trip is a short journey from the campsite. We will definitely return and stay for longer.
