FAQ

Port nan Gael offers an Inn with Bar, Restaurant, Shop and a Campsite with Pitches and Pods. To ensure our guests have all they need on arrival, see our most frequently asked questions below.

Stay at Campsite

We do not have a reception desk just follow the instructions on the information board. You can connect to the site Wi-Fi without a password and then scan the QR code to pay. If you have a booking just locate the pitch number as per your email confirmation.

You would need to book both Pitches 1&2 (electric) or 33&34 (non-electric) to best suit tent/motorhome combinations. If these are unavailable then you would need to book any hardstanding pitch near the tent field. We cannot allow guests to sleep in vehicles in the tent car park.

We operate a contactless check-in. There will be no one to greet you on arrival – however as long as you have your booking you can arrive any time after 1pm and find your allocated pitch number as seen in your welcome email. We do this to ensure we can accommodate any ferry arrival times.

Ensure your van is plugged in, open the plastic panel on the hook-up using the black thumbscrews and switch upwards from GREEN TO RED. Red means energised.

Yes as long as it is raised off the grass and kept on the gravel where possible.

We are pet friendly so please ensure dogs are kept on leads at all times and dispose of their waste responsibly. Max 2 dogs per pitch and there is an additional fee for dogs found at the payment stage of booking.

Click here to make another booking. This would need done in advance of the departure time of 11am. As pitches are pre-booked you may need to move pitch in order to extend your stay.

Yes, new for 2024, hardstanding electric pitches can be selected in advance. Click VIEW MAP at the payment stage of booking to check availability. All grass touring pitches and grass tent pitches are unallocated.

Stay at Pods

We operate a contactless check-in. Please see email confirmation for your key code. Lock boxes are on a communal sign on the pod footpath in front of the pod car park. Use the drop off zone and one way system to deliver your luggage before returning your vehicle to the car park. Keys must go back to lockbox on departure date.

Breakfast packs, Smores kits, Campfire kits and Prosecco are available for pre-order (must be done within 7 days of arrival). See confirmation email for detail.

Yes bed linen and towels are provided for your stay. Bunk beds need requested at the time of booking to ensure they will be made up for your arrival. If requested on arrival these will be delivered to the storage box for collection.

The pod has a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. The drawers include crockery, plates and bowls, tumblers and mugs as well as a collapsible basin for washing up.

Pods are available from 4pm and check out is 10am. If you arrive early just check the lock box: if your key is there then the pod is ready for you  – if your key is missing then it is being cleaned.

The pods are dog friendly and allow for 1 small/med dog only. Please ensure they do not climb on the beds and a crate is advisable.

West Holidays are responsible for all pod booking enquiries – contact guest@westholidays.co.uk

For any problems on site or when you are in the pod itself, please contact us via message box or phone number below.
